I'm back! Haha! All of those people who thought I would write once and then forget about this were wrong. Now, let's get into the month where everyone becomes a mindless monster for a few days and thinks about nothing but turkey and mashed potatoes... November. Yay.
November. The month of Thanksgiving. Let's have a chat about Thanksgiving, shall we? Well, I suppose I'm writing this so we shall. My Thanksgiving went rather well. I ate some turkey, as you do, along with some mashed potatoes and gravy and stuffing and green beans and more turkey and lots of other foods describable by the fact that when you see them on a normal day, you would say, "Why are you eating a Thanksgiving meal? It's only March 14th." My father cooked the turkey in his new electric smoker that he got a year ago for his birthday, and it was quite delicious. All of my relatives on my mother's side came up to our house to see us and bring food. My glorious cousins brought some scrumptious muffins that I enjoyed. And the day was merry and bright. Wait, that's Christmas.
Another fun thing that happened in November was that I got really sick before Thanksgiving because the world is just the greatest and most sanitary place to live, ever. In the beginning of the illness it appeared to be strep throat, so I took the strep throat antibiotics. After two days of no change and me still feeling like a miserable beheaded chicken, we went back to the doctor to ask a few questions. After some long interrogation and a chest x-ray, we discovered that I actually had pneumonia. So we ditched the strep antibiotics and took the pneumonia antibiotics, which are gigantic, seriously huge. Three days later, I was feeling better, but not tip-top, and the doctor needed to see me for a follow-up appointment. This time, to confirm the disease, I got a blood draw. That was one of the most horrific experiences of my life and recalling it is like trying to imagine eating that little rubbery bit that hangs down from a male turkey's mouth. Seeing the needle pierce your elbow and then seeing the little vial fill with your blood, is utterly disgusting. You might not find it so, but I do. After testing the blood, the doctors found out that I had an atypical mycoplasma pneumonia. More pills to take, yay. So after a total of about a week and a half of sickness and general misery, missing school, and not moving anywhere other than my bedroom, the couch, and the bathroom, I feel much better now and back to normal.
Next of what happened in my November! One fateful day upon a time, I was browsing Steam, looking for the next game to pick out and give a try on my computer, when I found a first-person hero-based shooter called Paladins. It looked to be made in a similar style to games like Overwatch, Battleborn, or Team Fortress Two, all of which I love. It was made by Hi-Rez Studios, the creators of Smite, another game that I enjoy. Two hours later, I found myself absolutely loving the game! I had even found my perfect character, a sniper called Kinessa. Yes, I play sniper, and I have fun playing sniper. I had reached level eleven and found myself continuing to play for hours. As I'm writing this paragraph, I have Paladins open in the background so that I can play it when I am finished. So, people, go get this game if you are looking for a solid FPS with a large player base and weekly, even daily updates, additions, and patches. Oh yeah, and it's free. So go download it. Now. It will run on your computer. I have it set to the highest graphics options and it uses around half a gig of RAM, and my computer has an Intel Core i3. Go get it. I command you to do so.
Other than those two things, nothing much eventful happened in November. I guess it is time to wrap up this post of Carter's Glorious Monthly Update and leave you to your lives. So, in a similar closing to last month, I leave you with my final opinion on the month of November: getting even closer to Christmas.
